A fascinating trip to our neighbours in Victoria at Bounceback - a charity committed to helping ex-prisoners get back into work by training them in decorating and construction. With a reoffending rate amongst their trainees of only 12% compared to a national average of 60%, it’s an incredible accolade to their methods, and to the trainees themselves.
The charity relies on property and construction companies giving people a chance and also donating time, money and equipment.
Many thanks to Ben Anderson at LandSec and Debbie Akehurst at Bounceback.
We will be organising a trip to see the operation at Brixton Prison soon if anyone is keen to learn more.
