The South Bank of the Thames has always been a vibrant place, but it has only been the last few years that it has become a location of choice for office occupiers. The transport links have always been good, and access to London Bridge, Vauxhall and Waterloo is excellent. The Jubilee Line extension started the process of regeneration, and developments like the Shard have positioned the area as a place to work as well as play.

Amenities have improved and independent bars, eateries and clubs now attract interest from tenants seeking offices to lease from all sectors, especially the media. Ogilvy, Omnicom and Iris Worldwide are some of the tenants that have recognised SE1 as a great are to choose.

Vauxhall in SW8 has, in the past offered less choice of offices to lease, but this is now changing significantly with developments being undertaken which will provide millions of square feet of space. Battersea Power Station is the obvious new scheme which will be transformational for that area, and Nine Elms also has a number of huge developments underway.

Tuckerman has advised clients on finding the right offices to let and development sites on the South Bank for many years. We have now launched www.unionstreetpartners.co.uk with our colleagues in Midtown (www.farebrother.com). We felt that the area deserved a specialist niche commercial agency of its own and we have opened an office in Borough Market in the heart of SE1.
